Contemporary
Latvian Music: The Latvia Project by UMS 'n JIP commissions works
for either recorder, voice & electronics in any combination
for 2 performers by established and rising contemporary Latvian
composers Juris Abols, Marina Gribinchika, Indra Rise, Ieva Klingenberga,
Laura Gustovska, Oskars Herlins and others.
The
program intends to introduce different contemporary Latvian composer's
works which are complementary to UMS 'n JIP's own works and/or
especially inspiring for them, it goes
back to Antra Drege's Pro Helvetia Swiss Arts Council Residence
in Switzerland 2011. It will
be premiered during Latvian New Music Days 2012 (artistic dir.
Gundega Smite) where UMS 'n JIP will be the 1st foreign ensemble
ever invited to LNMD. The Latvia Project will be further performed
on tour by UMS 'n JIP in 2013/14. |

Les
oeuvres commandées par UMS 'n JIP reflètent la riche
et fascinante culture musicale de ce petit pays passant par quasiment
toutes les tendances actuelles de composition classique contemporaine
en Léttonie. Les oeuvres seront exécutées
dans le cadre des Latvian New Music Days 2012 (3/12) à
Riga (dir. artistique Gundega Smite) où UMS 'n JIP aura
l'honneur d'être le premier ensemble étranger jamais
invité au festival. The Latvia Project sera ainsi donné
dans les tournées d'UMS 'n JIP en 2013/14. The Latvia Project
est le fruit de la résidence Pro Helvetia de la compositrice,
chanteuse et chef de choeur Antra Drege en Suisse 2011. |
Neue Musik aus Lettland:
The Latvia Project ist ein Programm mit Werkaufträgen
für Stimme, Blockflöten und Elektronik an
junge und etablierte lettische KomponistInnen wie Juris
Abols, Marina Gribinchika, Indra Rise, Ieva Klingenberga, Laura
Gustovska, Oskars Herlins u.a.
Das Programm bietet ein umfassendes
und faszinierendes Panoptikum der aktuellen und in der Schweiz
kaum bekannten Lettischen Kompositionsszene. Gerade die in Lettland
äusserst lebendigen Vokalmusik- und Chortraditionen versprichen
interessante Ansätze für die spezifische Besetzung von
UMS 'n JIP. Die neu entstehenden Werke werden an den Latvian New
Music Days in Riga (künstler. Leitung: Gundega Smite) im
März 2012 uraufgeführt, an welchen UMS 'n JIP die Ehre
zukommt, das erste ausländische Ensemble zu sein, das je
an die Latvian New Music Days eingeladen wurde. Ferner wird The
Latvia Project auf den Tourneen von UMS 'n JIP 2013/14 ins Programm
genommen. The Latvia Project geht auf die Pro Helvetia Residenz
von Antra Drege 2011 in der Schweiz zurück. |
